Dust disaster

Our wonderful neighbours went away leaving workmen installing a new kitchen. In their infinite wisdom, they decided to cut a chink of marble using a disc cutter on their front lawn. Helpfully, he decided to cut away from our cars just a few feet away. What the brain-dead dork didn't consider was the wind blowing back in the other direction. Both my Z4 and the 330e were covered in a layer of very fine and presumably very abrasive dust. Helpfully, it rained very soon afterwards. That which wasn't washed off, is now presumably firmly stuck.

Not surprisingly I was somewhat 'annoyed' at both the chap responsible and the neighbour, but, neither is in any way bothered about the consequences of their action. Not the end of the whole story due to a further incident, but, enough to content with just on this.

My problem now is how to deal with this layer of dust. Any helpful guidance on how to remove this stuff without scratching either car?
Anyone got any ideas/advice on redress I can take?

That's not good mate. I'd go with a snow foam as a first pass leaving it 10/15 minutes to loosen the contaminats then jet wash off. Then spray on a contaminant remover one panel at a time then jet wash off. If gone, wash the car, if some still present add more contamination remover then jet wash off.

Was going to do snow foam a couple of times and then just wash off rather than with any pressure. Waiting for a warmer day too so that bit of heat will help.

I believe the plea in court should be diminished responsibility.

A cooler day is better for washing cars mate, recommended too.

I'd normally do that, but am expecting a bit of heat to help release surface tension holding the dust particles down. Not talking roasting hot - just a bit of heat from the sun.

I think I am making the transition from being placid to a similar status Niall.
Hoping the problem is not as bad as I had initially feared. It rained for quite a while overnight Saturday. That seems to have removed much of the problem on the car if not in the house next door.

Not the point though, by being an inconsiderate idiot he could have caused some serious damage. Some people are just totally oblivious to the results from their actions. Hope you got the cars cleaned off without damage.

The second incident is far more worrying mate - I very nearly or one of my family could have lost an eye as a result of the inconsiderate and dangerous actions of one of his tradesman - drills the wall outside our back door and then sticks 2.5sq mm cable 2 feet straight out into our path immediately outside the back door right at head height. No notification, no warning. No awareness of the danger it presented. Going out - you couldn't see it end on (or even side on because you're looking down at the step not up in the air) - nor did I see the broken brick that had fallen on the mat which I then stumbled over and then on to the cable. Fortunately no injury or consequence, except the further stress of dealing with him and his trades. And then he sounds off at me for being a snowflake. No apology - No contrition. Just abuse.
Now having pushed that cable through, one presumes he needs to connect something to it to power his new kitchen. To do so, he needs access. Wonder how that might get approved? This is new works and not repair or maintenance, he has no legal rights to gain that privilege as far as I understand.

Today, there is a van parked right across the pathway and halfway across the road - right on a corner. There is plenty of space on their driveway. Been there several hours. Anyone walking up the road has to walk out into the road. Simply thoughtless behaviour.

Hi @Redline . Have they given you a Party Wall Notice for any of the works? If not you could stop them from working until such Notice and?or Agreement is in place. If you want some help or advise pm me your number and we can discuss. Cheers Malcolm
