I know this is a question probably asked a million times (I have seen lots of threads on here)

I have the dreaded DSC lights on my 2002 Z3 and wondered if this decoder reader kit will clear the errors from the ECU then I can see what actually appears after they are cleared, There are a couple of error codes showing with my basic reader but I want to clear them all down to see what re-appears to help narrow down the fault..

Does anyone think this kit will be ok

Thanks in Advance

Yes that will clear your fault codes/lights and allow you to read the trouble codes in all modules of your car.

Have you tried deleting all the fault codes and seeing what returns as they are for various components of the system.
I have seen the pressure sensor fault on another member zed changed them over for him.
If I remember rightly they are dealer only and around £120 each

The c110 + should allow you to delete the faults

The transverse acceleration sensor is under the carpet in front of the passenger seat. Also there is the yaw sensor. I had DSC faults on mine and only managed to cure it by changing both those sensors. Because of rain water ingress the sensors had been swimming in about 2 pints of water. The carpet is backed onto very thick foam and mine didn't feel wet even though there was a lake underneath. I wonder if that's your problem too.

Had similar issue with a 3.0 a few years back, YAW sensor as previously mentioned was my cause, seem to recall the E46 330i YAW sensor having the same part number as my Z3 so not too tough getting hold of one

I had exactly the same issue as you guys with the yaw and rotation sensors however he's got faults on the steering angle sensor and that's on the steering column - might be a separate issue, as well as brake pressure sensors too

Well I have an update, I bought an Icarsoft code reader and the errors are transverse lateral sensor and brake pressure sensor 1

Anyone have any pics as to where these parts are located please

Brake pressure sensor 1 is on the master cylinder.
And lateral sensor ( yaw sensor) under passenger seat.

Bit of good news, I decided to tap the brake sensors with a long screwdriver and a spanner as a hammer and then cleared the code and it has gone, brakes are balanced and that error has gone even after drive so i guess the sensor valve was stuck. Just the transverse acceleration sensor error code left now.

So i guess its passenger seat right out to get at that sensor
