Drivers seat won't move all the way forward?

I have just fitted a seat lifter kit to my drivers seat and now the seat won't move all the way forward and I am unable to get at the rear bolts to tighten them up.

The motor moves freely and there doesn't appear to be any obstructions on the seat track.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Did you do the seat bushes as well? if the threaded bar socket not equal both sides causes runner to catch and stop

No. The seat bushes are not too bad. It won't go all the way forward even if the front bolts are removed, so definitely not fouling on those :.,

Usually the only direction you can't get full movement is backwards after fitting seat lifters. You've definitely got the runners "level" with each other before bolting the seat down?

Tony.

What is a "seat lifter kit" please? Assuming the clue is in the name, does it fit under the rail and lift equally front and back so the same horizontal plane is retained? Are longer bolts/studs required?

@Ianmc A seat lifter kit just lifts the front. It is designed to make the seat hold you better and be more comfortable as it supports under the backs of the knees

Hopalong64, you didn't by chance tighten the torx screws under the rail?

I have only removed and then replaced the front bolts .. As you can see in the photo, the rail doesn't

even move far enough forward to be in any danger of touching / fouling the front bolts. This is the limit of the forward travel - i.e. the seat will not go any further forward than this ??

I haven't touched any torx bolts either ...

Interesting, both my cars have nuts on the front and bolts at the rear. Must be a later "upgrade".

If you remove the new spacer, is the problem still there?

The bolts are hollow and screw over the top of the floor studs, replacing the original nuts - yes problem exists even with new bolts removed completely....

I see, the "bolts" are part of the seat lifter kit then. Have you tried it without the spacer though, ie less slope as was?

Have you tried lifting the seat to its highest height and looked to see if you can see what fouls ?

I have tried to look underneath, but probably not with it 'jacked up'. I will have another look tonight.

I'll try and have a poke about this evening, but without access to the rear bolts, I cannot remove the seat to look properly ...!
