Having a problem with the drivers door not unlocking.
It would make the right noises from the solenoid but the door would not unlock either with the remote fob button or the key.

Is the passenger door and boot unlocking with the remote?

Can you open the driver's door from the inside?

I would think you're going to have to take the lock out to investigate. Not aware of any magic fixes. I would lean towards something in the lock mechanism itself being jammed rather than the actuator.

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried tapping around the lock and it has now unlocked.
I think your theory with the lock mechanism is spot on.

Good news. But don't let it catch you out if it happens again when your are out and about. It happened for a reason which is likely to happen again at some point.

Yes I suppose it could be where the grease has solidified.
Looks like, door lock out, clean and re-lubricate.
I hope its as easy as that.

Not what you could class as routine maintenance but likely never been lubricated since it was put together at the factory 20 odd years ago ..........

Ha. Ha. Never was a Yamaha fan. When I started on bikes I was still in the big Brit Iron era.
Then the big Honda four exhaust CB750 changed it all.....
Bikes that did not leak oil, started with a little button and started every time, had indicators etc etc

Now that is showing my age!!!

Remember the days as if yesterday. I was riding a 1978 T140E and upgraded to a near new naked 1978 Honda GL1000K2. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I have a photo somewhere.

Idly gazing at magazines in the shop the other day, saw some bike magazine with a bit on the cover about "50 years of the CB750". Can't be true, surely?:wideyed:=))
