Door seal replaced

I had a split door seal replaced. I attach photo looking from above of the replacement.
Today the carpet is damp in front of the driver’s seat.

As you can see the water is collecting between the seal and the plastic trim.
Is it likely the water is going under the trim.
Is there something I can do?

Pull the plastic trim off and see if its wet behind it. The water could be tracking down from the top of the "A" pillar, a common leak point.
