I've been plodding away in the background slowly bringing my 1997 1.9 back into a decent condition. I've not posted much on here but as I now find myself with a little more time on my hands I thought I'd start posting some of the things I do going forward.

As a (very simple) start here are before and after for door rubbers and protectors replaced yesterday. Pics are of drivers side but I changed both sides - looks stacks better and gives a much nicer sound when closing the doors now!

Replaced with new OEM parts, which weren't particularly cheap but should last another 20 years with no trouble.

The door rubbers really are essential for keeping the water out - ask me how I know ;) If you have a leak any where around the door the water is likely to run to that point in your photo.

So it's a good investment. Mine are taped up with gaffer tape but I will be attempting a repair with Sugru (google it - great stuff). Your's were probably beyond that.

An essential fix - looks like the original door rubbers were in pretty bad shape.

Its probably not something any non zedder would usually notice, but each time you open your door you'll have a little happy smile knowing they're all nice and new :D looks good, keep 'em coming

Can I ask how much they were if you don't mind me asking, the project could do with a new set.

@Faheem @gookah - always happy to share costs to help others but......

I've just looked through my history file for the invoice and can't find it - I bought them about 4 months ago along with an exhaust bracket - I know from the credit card statement that the whole lot came to £145 but not sure which element was the bracket, rubbers or the plastic protectors. Sorry!

I'll get a new invoice next time I'm at the garage to help my OCD on history
