I've notice the passenger door handle surround is loose, tried to tap the the retaining piece through the access hole but it won't budge (sorry for the bad description)

I'm sure it is 'open' as I press the surround on it can be pulled off just as easily

Sorry can't offer any advice to assist Ash, but take care not to damage actual handle rubber seal (51718400423/4) during your efforts.
I tried to get some from dealer last month and was told they are no longer available unless somebody else knows otherwise!

it is quite tricky Ash, make sure it is all square or it wont clip in, i done mine from behind the door card. patience is a virtue on this one my friend
I have tried pressing the retaining plate with no handle trim in place at all and it still won't budge :(

Mate, you're a star for owning up to that one. We will all completely forget about that small faux pas for ever and a day................................

I know you're joking Tony, but at our age our memories probably will mean we will completely forget...:)

Is this an off topic relapse Jim? :)
Not really, as you see George took over my phone, tried to fight him off and took 20 stitches when he hit me with it! If it had been me I would have made reference to the door handle in my post as I'm on the down side of the 40 days 40 nights and plan to make it to the end.. JIM

I think you have done very well Jim, perhaps George could edit his original post so it were on topic?

Ash
Hi Ash, glad you got your door handle sorted out. Won't be seeing George for quite some time if ever again and definitely will not let him get his fingers on my keyboard again. He was refusing to take his bipolar meds so they've had to sedate him and put him in the provincial mental health facility for an undetermined period of time. Luckily they found him before he could derail my efforts any further and undermine my credibility with the project. I'm okay although will have a permanent scar from the cut but it's in back of my head so the hair covers it. JIM
