Hi,

I just took the door cards of my z3... Its all fairly standard stuff:

--- BUY THE 99p Orange trim tools of eBay.....

Removal.....

1. Pull of the plastic trim clip in the middle panel of the door card its torwards the back of the door) - Mine says "Airbag" (as the car has door airbags, I presume non aibg models are blank?)..
The plastic clip has 2 legs at corners - slightly compress one corner and it will come out easily. There's a torx screw under there...

2. Using your plastic trim tool (wedge) lever out the Mirror adjuster/Passenger blank and there a 2nd screw, also remove the window adjuster for safe keeping

3. Using your plastic trim tools place a wedge in the bottom of the card and get on your back and look in the crack you have created to locate the poppers (4 at the bottom I think and 2 on each side). then with your fork tool pop them all... Use the tool as the door card is cardboard and the clips will rip off..

4. Once the poppers are loose, remove the trim surround on door release handle... It slides forward towards the front of the car. you can do this step before if you want...

5. Lift the door card up it is latched over a lip which is wedged by the rubber seal on top. Use your plastic trim tool (wedge) and manoeuvre the seal by folding it down if its resisting you.

6. Once loose detach the speaker cable, theres a connecter

Refit...

Rinse and repeat steps above, but with:

1. The biggest tip I can give is lubricate the plastic strip on the door frame first... I used a plastic trim product to lubricate(Back to black was at hand for me... ), but anything silicon lubrication wise will work or even WD40... With out doing this you will be struggling! (suggested by my panel dent man- it work a treat)

2. Also make sure that you have reattach the vapour barrier foam.. reheat the black gunk with a hot gun and it will re-stick... Use Gaffer tap if anyone has "Monkeyed" the vapour barrier, to repair... small bits work better than large bits over the contours...

3. Get the top in first from the speaker location first (after lubrication step 1), then work along.
Now using your plastic trim tool (flat wedge) can now be used to peel the black seal to it correct position (insert and pull back and it goes back the original position).

4. Once the top is in, get on back again position the door card so that the plastic poppers line up... again to stop destroying the fragile cardboard door card...

5. Don't forget the cables!!

Hope this helps some one...

thanks! when you get the tools its worth sanding down the rough bits of plastic first on the edges... not doubt more expensive stuff will have had the "flashing" already removed..
