It was very nice AdrianThat's a Continental R Stephen. The factory some years ago gave me the keys to a Continental T with 400 miles on the clock to take out. Went like an exocet missile.
They both look like very expensive hearses to me. I bet people are dying to get a ride. Not quite as 'clean' in styling I think you'll agree.
No. Just lots and lots of money. No glass fibre and bits of meccano holding things together here!
Had none of that on the Meteors I worked on in the army, just fire it up. A lovely engine right up to the point when you get told to check the valve clearances, takes a while. And then a bit longer.....It makes one hell of a row before it even cranks up as you have to pressurise the lubrication system prior to starting.
It did pick up pace rather fast up hill. Couldnt keep up in my xc90Yes one of the nicer conversions, not by RR though. Here are better photos of it at this years annual rally at Burleigh House.
Behind it (in 2nd photo) is another estate version based on a Silver Shadow. I photographed it as it was nicely done and looked 'proper'.

A flying spur by the way is a turbo charged RR, normally only Bentley versions of the SZ range were turbo charged. I think only about 200 RR Flying Spurs were made, a turbo on a RR is regarded as 'rather vulgar', save them for the Bentley Boys.
