The day started well (and early) as I got the car out there were some big black clouds around. 40 minutes later at Donny it was mostly blue skies and getting hotter.

Part two.
Some great cars on show including some I used to have the "pleasure" of working on back in the day.

Nice to sit and have a chat with some good friends again in a really nice setting. Next to a large lake we bought an ice cream and went through under the shadow of the big hedge and walked around the lake after lunch to cool off a bit.

Tony.

ps. Very sad to see empty drinks bottles left at the top of the bank, there were more, and other litter. It really does PI55 me off. If the show were asked not to come back because of it who would they blame. (Rant over).

Right next to the home of Doncaster Rovers F.C. Easy to get to off the M18 too.

Those two old Norton Cafe Racers were very nice. In the lake we saw 1 big Koi Carp about 3 feet long, must be worth around £5,000 so surprised it is still in there. The chap in the red shirt with the old Rolls-Royce gave us his number saying he could be interested in Uncle Harry's 100 year old Quadrant Motor Bike.

My favourite car? I would have to say that red Audi Quattro. Beautiful.

Tony.

A fantastic day all round - again Thanks to Paul for pulling us all together
.
So many cars to choose from ---which was the best one ? ohhhhhhhhhhh so difficult.....

The ORANGE Z3 took my eye but the complete superbly presented Triumph Acclaim was something from yesteryear. Full 100% credit to the owner - the detail was meticulous to say the least. Would I take it home?....no but the Merc 190 SL or the 120 Jag would be a tough decision.
Great Day !
Yep got a bit hot too...thank goodness for sunfactor 50 as I am not a lobster this morning !!!
Take care everyone ....'till the next one!!!:)

Looks good guys, weather great for it, pleased you had an enjoyable day - unlike me.

Happened to be in Doncaster yesterday - awaiting one of Britain's Railways finest transportation after some other delays - 5.5 hrs to do what is a 2 hr drive, and they want us to use public transport more !!!!

Me too Alex. The issue with the roof was when the boot was last closed the load cover was up, so it couldn't work. After we got home the boot still wouldn't open and the windows were stilled out of action in the down position. I backed it onto the ramps and tried it again and the bloody thing opened. So I emptied the boot and put the load cover down and the roof worked perfectly on the buttons, and with the key in the driver's door lock. Driving home with all windows open was quite pleasant, just a bit noisy when someone over took on the A1.
Armed with some more YouTube info I'll look into the boot locking issue first I think, as when the boot won't open the windows won't raise or lower either.

Good news.

What is "someone overtook on the A1" ? Something like "what is left-over wine" I guess . . . 😉
