Does anyone know what this key is for?

I bought a 2000 Z3 roadster two months ago. The purchase was made remotely so I never got to meet the dealer (nor the vehicle) in person prior to the purchase. After unloading my car the tow truck driver handed me an ignition key, a fob, and this mini key all attached. I've owned BMWs for 15+ years, including a previous roadster, and have never seen anything like this. I've been attempting (without much luck) to get duplicates for my other keys. I'd like to know not just what this key is but also if (or how) I should be getting a duplicate for this little guy as well.

Would it be for one of those suit cases you strap on the boot luggage rack? Or different key for a different alarm?

Have you tried all your locks ? could have been for a gear stick lock or steering wheel lock

With the BMW logo on it, it must be to do with some fixture/fitting on the car. Locking fuel filler cap, factory alarm etc. Not having a roadster, does it fit the cubbyhole lock on the bulkhead between the seats?
Failing that check with dealer.

Looks like a luggage key. I have one that looks similar that goes to a travel bag
