Since starting to drive my Z4 I have discovered that the car has an obsession for picking up stone chips. The latest battle scar however is completely baffling but is making me think seriously about wearing a bra. Oh! and keeping my finger off the lens when taking photos?

Strange how they appear mate, I collected one on my bonnet over a year ago and I surmised it was from someone placing an item on my car whilst unlocking theirs and not picking it up cleanly, but dragging it.

Very annoying to say the least.

O no ........ :p
It's not very nice when you get scratches on your Z :(

That Shelly has got to rate as "THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR"................. Oh! and I do know where Great Yarmouth is by the way and I will get you at playtime ?.................I think?

Good picture of my finger though eh?

It will only really matter when you go to sell it, people (drivers) who look at your car understand it's a fact of life. If you don't want stone chips in that area then yes wear a bra that way you can show your pride and joy without the horrible stone chip/scratch sindrom, only prob is you'll need a bra that covers the whole car  I think you love driving it too much to even think of it. Go enjoy it, worry about the chips when you decide you need a change. Lovely Z motor car. (Chips and all)

Bonnet bras can do more harm than good. Grit gets underneath them and scratches the area you are trying to protect. They are fine for ocassional, I.E trailing as long as the car is cleaned first.

I would avoid a Bra as said it can cause far more damage. They are not meant for perminant use and if left on wet and then in sun the damp causes the paint to micro blister and it will wreak it.
Stone chips are not great but unless you want to constantly add and remove the bra i seriously would not entertain it..

I think they call it "armour coating" but its like a clear plastic stick on layer that you stick to high impact areas of the car. Ive seen it on some high end super cars.

Bad boy has it on his ///M I believe.

He has Tony. It's 3M film. He's got it across the front bumper, bonnet edge and on both wing mirrors.
