Dismantling drivers seat?

Wondering if there is a How To on dismantling a seat?
My drivers seat doesn't tilt or recline.
I've reattached the cables below the seat, made sure they operate and the metal brackets they fit do turn. Still nothing, even pulling/pushing hard on the backrest. So, from what I can see, do I have to strip the whole base off the seat??

Hi Iain,
When I had my seats apart to fit heat pads, if I remember correctly, its one cable. The ends fit like bike brake cables to the tilt catches ( blue arrows) , the middle part of the cable hooks over the lever mechanism. ( red arrow)

If the lever has no resistance, Sounds like one of these is not connected

I'm at this stage now

I'm assuming there's no ratchet system and whatever regulates the backrest angle is in the tubes? And siezed solid in my case.
I think this car got a soaking at some time, which may be why the power hood is disconnected. Looks like I'll be swapping to the spare seat base I'm getting to replace the damaged passenger seat.

Yours looks very rusty, do you already have a spare? If not I’ve got loads - you can have one, I usually bin them.

You appear quite a long way from surrey, but it’s neber impossible

If I've done it right, it should show up as a red 'alert' in the top right of your home screen.

On that tutorial that @spurs fan in a coupe linked if you remove the seat base you have access to the tilting mechanism, lubricating everything generously normally brings it back to normal operation.
