Have seen this car locally, so a bit info and heads up if anyone's looked.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z3-2...434867?hash=item25f6dc7c73:g:S0QAAOSwgZZZagh3

It "was" also on autotrader for 2.5k, so as I was thinking of "upgrading" from the 1.9 I thought I'd pop in to view/test etc. Being around 4 years newer I thought it maybe a possible.

First thing the car was parked round the back of the showroom, outside, looking rather dirty, it didn't get better from there unfortunately.

It wasn't locked so I started to have a look inside etc, wasn't long before the "salesman" joined us!! "it will have a years MOT if you buy it today"? lol first thing he said.

I am no where near clued up on the mechanics etc of cars, but the info I have gained here I knew "sort of" what to look for.

First off, apart from it being dirty, I mean really dirty outside, the interior was disgusting, mould on the carpets and seat belts, obvious wet patches on the seats, and the most disgusting fake carbon stickers on most of the dash, centre console etc.

Battery flat so he went to get a booster, so I continued to look around. carpets under the seat wet, and feeling between the joins in the carpet soaking, full of water.

Roof mouldy, and worn away and looked like small holes where the bars are, and the rear window is stitched in. although it opens and closes manually all ok.

Underneath didn't look too bad, apart from what looked like a bed spring dangling down from near the drivers side rear wheel?

Engine bay!! well, it has a really bad attempt to hide something, some duck tape or similar over the passenger side suspension mount, and was painted over to sort of match the engine bay. A really bad and dirty induction kit, and a lot of anti rust paint covering loads of obvious bubbles.

Most of the panels had rust bubbles, arches, wings, door, however surprisingly the sills didn't seem to have any obvious.

wing mirrors aren't the same colour as the car, and they don't move.

On a plus side the wheels are nice, with good tyres!!

"Salesman" turned up and used the booster to jump it, sounded really nice and exhaust not was good. However it also conked out as soon as he stopped revving it. He went on about there being "quite a bit of history" but by that time I had lost any initial interest. No offer to drive it or anything.

Such a shame to see a car like this head to the scrappy.

There are plenty of bad ones out there, I know, I bought one :), however there are lots of good ones, its just finding them, if you are interested there is a cracking 2.2 just around the corner from me, if you are interested, PM me, I am loathed to advertise this car as I want it.
