Read that last night Bill makes you not want to start your zed after reading what happened. Are you doing yours as a matter of course ?

Does anyone know if my 2.0 M52 engine has one as its got to be worth replacing if it has.

Thanks.

If the zed was made after 1998 then yes it will have one. That was when the M52 engine came out.

:wtf:
I'm afraid the M44 does indeed have a disa valve part 11611438404
Reading through the thread on .net there is a comment which states they were fitted from Sept (?) 1998 - do you agree?

I've checked back to march 96 and the unit is listed as fitted, looking at compatibility it was used on all variants of the M44 even on the 318is and the M43 during 94 / 95 but most of those will be LHD cars.

I have read of a disa delete using the M42 manifold, and I think most people delete it on (blank it off) when fitting a super charger on the M44

Yep - I was looking at real.oem as you posted this and part number you quoted earlier is shown as adjuster unit on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CH72&mospid=48079&btnr=11_1569&hg=11&fg=40:bashhead:

I just looked on YouTube and its fairly easy to replace (two torx bolts and one electrical connection). Simples !!
