Difference between softops

Hi guys, I currently have a face-lift 2.0 & keep looking at 2.8s - most of which are pre face lift. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on the difference between the two softops? My one seems very quiet in wind noise & squeeks. Is the early one much different? Cheers.

Pre facelift don’t usually have the headliner hence will have a bit more noise.

Hi, yeah I've heard they are different but can you actually notice the difference in real world driving? Is it enough to be annoying in earlier cars?

I put a headliner in my car and it made a bit of a difference. Not night or day but a little. It is also nicer to look at.

Did you retrofit yours into a pre facelift?

I got a used liner from someone on here and installed it myself. Not difficult as you only need to do a few modifications for fitting the rivets on the rear strut. A few guides are about.

I have both models a face-lift ( with liner)
and a pre face-lift without.
Got to say not that much of a significant difference in noise levels ( liner nicer to look at )
Although you will probably find the main reason I don't notice much difference is when out in the zeds unless its raining ( and sometimes even when it is )
Its roof down and there's no difference that way bar more tyre noise off the one with the wider rubber .
