I know I posted this when I did the lube on my 2.8 but thought I'd share again, the gearbox oil in the ///M was filthy and the viscosity was alarming even after sitting for a few hours and was cold, the pic below shows the oils, guess which came out and which one went in? =)). The diff wasn't so bad but still warranted a change.

I realise all you seasoned Zedders are pretty much set up to work on your Zeds with wheel ramps, axle stands and jacks etc however I can imagine doing this job would be a total pain without the car in the air, just getting the belly plate off would be a nightmare, and there's some that just don't have the kit or know-how and rely on garages.

So doing this again got me thinking what a doddle of a job this is if you are lucky enough to have full ramps and all the kit, so here's my offer;

I have use of the ramps, I have all the kit to do the lube change (excluding oils) If anyone wants to do a lube change you are more than welcome to come visit (subject to me being available). I'm in Lydney in Gloucestershire which will be a long way for most but here's the thing. I am in the middle of the picturesque Forest of Dean, 15 minutes away from the beautiful Wye Valley with Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and 30 minutes away from historic Monmouth. Within 45 minutes you can be in the Brecon Becons enjoying some of the best roads around. The lube change would take about hour and half tops depending on nattering. So in theory you could drive down early, do the lube and then spend a great day on a mini cruise of your choice.

You could either do the lube yourself, or I can help to speed it up or if you have a total spanner phobia I'll do it for you, and its FOC (though cake is always appreciated :whistle:) Plus it gives you chance to have a good look under your Zed.

Cheers
Niall

Wow! Even though I can't get my car booked in it sounds like a super area for cruising and if I ever make the jump over the pond I will want a drive around for sure. Thanks for your generous offer, don't let the non spanner spinners off so easily, get them dirty maybe next time they'll try something themselves with supervision and who knows where from there. And I'd love a set of ramps like those!! JIM

One of the many friendly locals in the area, I can vouch that it's a fantastic place to visit, and what a jenerous offer! A great reason for a return trip (as if I needed one anyway) :thumbsup:

Back when I was a lad there was a set of those ramps on our local ex-RAF airfield. My Dad and I used them all the time as did a lot of local lads.

@NODZED I'll take you up on your kind offer if I may Niall, I could do with getting under mine and changing the gearbox oil again now I've knocked up a few miles following the shift pin overhaul & might as well do the Diff while I'm at it. I'll get the oil sorted & no doubt we'll meeting up some time soon for some Zed shaped fun before hand.:coolsteer):coolsteer)
Cheers
