I need to buy a code scanner that will work with both my cars for my Suzuki have to have a Bi Directional scanner will this type of scanner work with a Bmw 1998 2.8 z3 m52

Icarsoft bmv2 is a bmw dedicated scanner that can read obdii from other cars also.
many bmw options (airbag, service, live data, airbag, brake bleed etc) and basic engine diagnostics and error reset (except airbag) for the rest of the brands.

As does my Foxwell. I use it on my mate Suzuki Jimny. You can buy "add-ons" from Foxwell as long as the card you originally load has the capacity. Much like a SatNav does.

That's great thanks I have seen the Fox well units and they look good quality , I think after Suzuki charging me £220 for an oil and filter change and to reset the oil change indicator its going to be a good buy especially if it will work on my Z3
