had the diagnostics done tonight, threw up a few issues.

Slight misfire on cylinder 3 - need new coil pack
MAF Sensor - new maf needed
ABS sensor - part number 6751767
Possible camshaft sensor

So anyhoo,,, need a maf which I can get from the bay, however, been checking coils and see them for anywhere from £14 to £29, is there any difference ? As I only need 1 to check and make sure that's all that it is lol

Thanks
Ray

Try moving the #3 coil to another cylinder and see if the misfire moves too.

I would fit a new set of plugs also as a matter of course.
Was the abs sensor a front or rear ( fronts usually need disc etc off and smashed out also make sure you get the right sensor asc and dsc sensors are different from each other

@Pingu

It actually does have a k&n filter on it , would that make a difference ?

K&n filters are coated in oil, this can find itself onto the sensor, you could try cleaning the sensor with electrical contact cleaner but do not touch the sensor with anything just spray and let it dry touching it will destroy it.
Plugs dependant on what engine you have Halfords had an offer on not long ago four plugs three tipped type for £8 suitable for 1.9 4 pot engines.

I would try camshaft sensor before MAF just because it seems a guaranteed items to fail on these engine whereas MAF not so much.
I belive the engine should run fine with the MAF unplugged so if it's still running bad with it unplugged then most likely something else?

It's running better now than it did, when I gets warm, well, hot lol it goes well and responds better to throttle...

Unfortunately I don't know when it was last serviced as still waiting on service coming from previous owner ;(, so a set of plugs wouldn't go amiss.

With the MAF disconnected, the DME uses rough air flow tables it has coded in it. If the car is running better, then you have a MAF problem. It you decide to clear the MAF, usually the best you get is not damaging it. Better to buy a new high quality one as per recommendations in above posts.

Consider the value of having a K&N filter on a 2.0 L engine or learn how much oil to put on it.

Only fit a cam sensor if you are getting cam sensor fault codes.

K&N filters can leave oil residue on the the maf, could be the problem with yours?

Took the filter off and on the outside edge of the maf where it connects there was a slight amount of fine oil ,,, wiped it down, cleaned out filter and much smoother now
