Where is it? :ymblushing:

Hi, ive spent ages this afternoon trying to find where 'my' name and address is stored on my comp and its been driving me mad! If i start to fill a form in, in each box, if i type the first letter the rest of my name comes up, then the boxes below are filled with my address - all well and good, but we recently moved and need to change my default address. Any idea where it is stored pls. Thanks,
:ymblushing: :ymblushing:

Gill this should work with any box you're filling in including logins etc.

Double click in the box and your LOV list will come up, use your arrow keys to scroll up and down and delete any you want. If double clicking doesn't work then type the 1st letter of your old address etc and when the entry comes up, scroll down and delete.

Having said that Gill it's probably not good practice to have the FORMS autofill option ticked in IE, the web designers use generic names for these fields so the data we enter is recognised and if it's stored, it fills it in. Malicious people could obtain that information by pulling the information from your pc without you actually filling in the form. It is safer to fill a form in each time and untick the box in IE options.

In that case the data is stored in the Registry, I dont think there is a direct access to this data, however you can delete all the data, and then next time you type it it will ask you if you want to save, see below:

AutoComplete

Internet Explorer's AutoComplete feature lets you more quickly fill out web forms and navigate to websites you have visited in the past. AutoComplete collects and stores in the registry on your computer the data you type in web form text boxes and the Address bar. If you choose to use AutoComplete for passwords, they will be stored in encrypted form on your computer. AutoComplete information is not shared with other users of your computer.

The first time you submit a web form, you will see a message box that asks if you'd like to turn the AutoComplete functionality on.

To turn AutoComplete off and clear AutoComplete's history:
1.
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

2.
On the Content tab, in the AutoComplete section, click Settings. In the AutoComplete Settings dialog box, clear the appropriate check boxes for the AutoComplete options you do not wish to use, and then click OK.

3.
To clear AutoComplete or web address history, click the General tab. Under Browsing History, click Delete. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, select the Form data and Passwords check boxes.

4.
To clear web address entries, follow the steps for Clear History below.

I've got some spare room on some of my lists. Which one depends on what severity you want to apply...
