My lovely Z3 has been running perfectly for the past coup of months- until today :(.
I used it yesterday no problems, and had an excuse to pop out today so unlock with fob, get in & ignition on, all normal lights came on, turned the key to start and click, nothing! All dash lights went off and car is dead, no electrics working at all!
I have had a search on here for similar issues and seen a couple of mentions about a pyro link that can blow, and a fuseable link in the boot, can anyone tellme how I can check these?

First thing I would try is a pair of jump leads. Then put 1 lead between engine block and chassis earth to rule out earth issue. My best guess is the battery expired.

Thanks Tony. I stuck my charger on today using the jump start connection under the bonnet, after just a couple of hours it indicated fully charged so I disconnected and tried to start. Hey presto started straight away, put my meter on the battery terminals while running which showed 13.9 volts at idle so charging looks ok.
At that point it started to rain so end of checks for today. Hey, ho ……

If you check battery voltage with engine off every couple of hours, you will probably find it is losing voltage quite quickly. A healthy battery should only lose several millivolts in a day at most.

Does sound like a knackered battery. At least you don't have to code a new one.
