I completed a minor service on the Zed - oil + filter, air filter & spark plugs. When I removed plug 5, I noticed it was not as tight as the rest and there was a bit of oil round the thread. Anyway put it all back together with new plugs and all is fine. I reset the service lights and then I used INPA to see if there were any stored error codes. There was only one, 242 - misfire on cylinder 5, I'm assuming it was because of the loose plug.
Does anybody know what the rest of the information on the error memory report is? When the problem occurred for instance...

So it's only happened once at 2720 rpm, the rest is just standing info.

On newer cars it will tell you at what mileage it happened but can't see it here.

Was there anything in the shadow memory?

I think there was but I didn't take a screen shot:rolleyes:. IIRC the details were pretty much the same.

Since you have changed the plugs and No 5 threaded in ok and no further misfire has occurred it could have been due to it being loose. What mileage had the old plugs done and what are the plug leads like for condition, could be the plug lead breaking down due to age. Just keep an eye on it and maybe make frequent checks with your code reader.

The old plugs were Bosch 4 electrode ones and had done 29,600 miles but all looked ok, good colour and no burnt electrodes. There are no plug leads as such on a 6 pot, each plug has its own coil pack mounted directly onto the top of the plug, again they all looked ok. I'll leave it a few days and see if the fault comes back.:)
