Daylight Running Lights

Can anyone tell me if a 2001 UK BMW Z3 3.0 should have daylight running lights fitted as standard?

If you would like DRLs, BMW do a kit to run the dipped beams as DRLs, which looks quite easy to fit.

Zedonist does a halo retrofit kit. Perhaps not to everyones tastes, but I like them. Not the easiest things to install, but entirely doable with a bit of patience
