My Z3 Roadster is a 2001 Japanese imported model.
A very basic question should the heater controls be illuminated ?
I also have an air bag warning lamp "on" after having had the unbelievably complicated wiring to the sound system removed, however I have found previous threads to this problem so hopefully we can get that corrected.
Regards to all
Mick

Yes there are 2 back light bulbs. They often blow. I replace them if I have the. center console out, as that is when you have easiest access to them. Bulb part number is 61138353797

If you have small enough hands, you could do the replacement through the radio hole, but you'ld have to know exactly where the bulbs are located and be good at working with your eyes closed.

The bulbs are very expensive. The possibility of pulling the old bulb out of the base fitting and installing a small LED is there. Jus haven't had the need lately to explore that option.

You can access them by getting behind the flaps at the side of the console. 2 screws will loosen them and you can bend them towards the rear of the car enough to get your arm in.
