Has anybody by chance hard wired a cam via piggy back to the fuse box on a 3 series (E92) ?
I am trying to find a switched live but all I have tried so far are permanent live. The search is made more difficult as the fuse box is accessed through a removable panel behind the glove compartment - so it's an arm through glove box and then effectively through a letter box opening!!

I have heard of people using the switched live feed to the radio as a source for the dash cam. Would this be helpful on the E92?

I have tried one of the fuses to the sound system but that turned out to be a permanent live. System comes on with fob insert but when fob is removed can be overridden with radio on/off button which eventually times out. The info in the box is in the pic below but in some instances where it shows a fuse there isn't an actual fuse there but what appears to be a link.
As I said you are working through a letter box opening, so using a multimeter to check is impossible. Wiring diagrams are a challenge.85AABC0C-3FAD-4906-A05D-5BDA66494427.jpeg29130727-744A-40B8-8870-B4C8BBD141B8.jpeg

Could somebody please advise what the fuse pictogram means in bottom right boxes?

I don't know but I'd guess at power windows (or roof if it's a convertible) and auxiliary power supply...
Thanks - I've just done a google search and found a thread on Bimmerfest which indicates it's the cigarette lighter - more trial and error tomorrow - it was so much easier in the old days;)
