Da polisher

Couldn't agree more, fleece bottoms (shorts in summer) and top for me and always gloves, as for what i'm called lol detailer, valeter or that complete nutter who is always cleaning his car..I don't care, what I care about is how my cars look. The detailing forums and detailing as a whole is just a way of extracting our hard earned cash, I enjoy it and I have spent good money learning about it but i am an amateur albeit a good one lol, would I do it for a job? not a chance, i don't have any insurance so won't do other cars unless the owner accepts in writing that it's on them and not me if i mess up, that way I avoid doing the other cars and concentrate on mine

Always learning regardless of time served, that's the way.

Great thread that has got a lot of people thinking, remember it's about the detail lol.

As you say always learning. When you stop doing that it's time to go home..

Insurance is pretty cheap considering what some of the cars are worth. I have insurance up to £125000 and if their is more value I call them and they cover it for a few quid. Well worth it.

Me too dude, I'm not a detailer which is an american term for a valeter.. I clean cars...Simple..
How much cash you throw at me depends on how clean you want it.
I can spend 6 hours plus inside the wheel arch.
On a full detail I spend between 80 and a hundred hours..

Yeah...Great thread...

Cliff.

Hate them with a passion Cliff and I usually price myself out the job..
White leather.......WHY?????=))

I wonder if when the person ordered the white leather did they have blue jeans on? lol. Or any colour for that matter.

Always learning always new products to try ever changing world.
Nice to share a tip or two if it works and makes life easier.
As said above depends if a client does not have the time to busy or inclination to get his hands dirty.
As to price as said depending on time spent products involved most just want a clean looking car for as little as possible .
Others might want more detailed wheels off kinda thing roofs cleaned reproof.
One can always spend more time on a car but you have to call it a day sometimes.
Always as a car guy happy to give free advice on products and process .
Please don't ask about mechanical side of cars. :banghead:
Keep going Russell.
Cheers Cliff.

=)) Blue jeans ah yes got a Range Rover and a Porsche Cayenne with white leather on my books and both keep asking why there seat is going blue. Doh .
I can remove it obviously as they are regularly valeted but please sit on a towel when wearing jeans and no studs on them please lol.
Sounds like you had a blue jeans experience.:p

Would that zip be up or down Cliff?? I'm simply amazed at what you people do and the things you have a cure for. Not very many detailer/valet type services here but sure could use some. Virtually every vehicle drives around with swirls! Want to move?? JIM
