Hi All. 1999 2.8 last used August/September last year now taking it out of hibernation. Since the battery needed charging up I put in the fairly new battery from my everyday Volvo. Strangely at first everything looked dead, the Z wouldn't turn over although the dash lights were showing. After one or two attempts it cranked over and fired up. I ran it for a few minutes and then switched off. Later in the day I put the now charged original battery in but although it cranked over it would not fire up. I put my meter on and the above fault came up. Now i've read as much as I can on the forum especially the thread under the heading "over cranking" about this problem which appears relates to the immobiliser but to be honest it is all a foreign language to me. Can anyone point me in the right direction or is this a BMW specialist job requiring some re-programming. Thanks.

Hi NZOOZ3. Thanks for that. Not something I can do then even if I had a Windows computer. Well at least I know the beast I'll be looking for.

Anyone in or around Leicester with the necessary kit and knowledge ? Happy to pay
