Sold some 20mm spacers a while back and after dropping them off at my local post office, using Parcel Force 48 they were never sent. In fact they sat at the post office until I had the time to drop by and find out what happened. So back they came and today I fitted them to my rear wheels, somewhat rubbing the inner arch I looked online to find how to roll the wheel arch lip.

Plenty of videos with baseball bats and telephone directories, so figured I can do this. Had some paint deteriorating on the rear drivers side anyway so was not going to cause any more paint problems. I will have them touched in when I get my bumper re-sprayed, so armed with a cut down broom-handle a piece of wood set to work on the arches.

It is beyond easy to do, just took my time and folded the arch lip upward, still need to fully finish and smooth the roll out. Will pop a pic when they are complete, but here is the car at the mo.

The tyres now miss and I have a rather PHAT to use the modern parlance rear end.

Interesting I've never heard of this being done to a Zed before

A simple fix then - is it leverage only that's applied using the broom handle and piece of wood for protecting the paintwork? I'm intrigued!

Hi I used the broom handle cut down to 10 inches to bend the arch lip back. The wood was to put on the tyre to give a bit more pressure, I started at the edge and made my way to the centre. Take s about 15mins to do one arch a bit at a time, going to finish the smoothing and then rub down the turned in lip and paint to protect it.

good luck with parcel force, the same thing happened to me about 6 years ago, i sold and posted about 10 pairs of chainsaw trousers (£140 each pair) which i sold on ebay, wasn't long before i was getting the item not received emails (couldn't track them as i used the franking machine at work to print the postage - ssshhhh), in the end i had to refund all the buyers and open another ebay account as the feedback /fall out from this decimated my score. a couple of weeks later i was down the post office arguing with the guy on the counter about my parcels when i spotted them on a shelf in a cupboard, i pointed to they - hey what are those, ah yeh, how did they get there was his answer then said the girl who took them from me had gone on holiday and didnt pass on the fact she had put them in the cupboard, do you want me to send them on - NO.
rant over.

good work on the arches:thumbsup:

Does anyone know this members wheel setup. I think he is running rondell 0058's and i really interested to find out which wheel and offset he has used in the rear with a 20mm spacer. The are 3 variants that fit et35 - 8j , et18- 10 & et 13 8.5j. im hoping its the 8.5j with the spacer. @windym if you are out there.

These are aftermarket wheels similar to 0058.

Thanks Dino. That has put my mind at rest. I had pretty much shelved the 10j rears project and when I saw this by accident and started the mind over.

Makes sense that they are not rondells. The effective outer spec of 10.5j et18 just didn't compute.

Any ideas what they are or even the specs at all?

Just a point to make, if you roll your arches you will compramise the paint protection for the whole of the arch as it will crack it through to bare metal
