Hello everyone, Nick here from the BMW Car Club... and ZroadSter of course!
Anyway, for those of you that don't know me I have been running our annual Croft trackday on the Clubs behalf for over 25 years.
I volunteered to run the inaugural one back in 1996 and they have not let me leave yet!
So, if you fancy a proper open pit lane trackday properly run by BMW enthusiasts for BMW enthusiasts this is the event for you.
It's on a Monday so you will need a day of work, but that's on purpose because it gives us the weekend to get up to Darlington and settled in to our digs without rushing around trying to get on-site ready for 8am.
Pricewise, its £235 each (or £20 cheaper with a BMWCC membership card) and I am aiming to break even with just 55 cars.
Most commercial TDO's try and get 75 cars at Croft in order to turn a profit, but thats something we dont need to do. I'm happy with 55 and the Club are happy if we dont lose money.
Running a low number event gives everyone the tracktime they want without waiting and it gives us the chance to coach the newcomers and bring them up to speed without the pressure you sometimes get at events running a full house.
The day will be run by a small team of club members headed up by yours truly. We will be signing you on in the morning, keeping an eye on you throughout the day and presenting you with your awards and prizes at the end of the day.
We always make a weekend out of this one involving a meal and a drink at the bar on the Sunday evening. We usually gather at the Morton Park Hotel on account of a lot of us staying at the Premier Inn just next door.
