Crap spacers

I've got 20 mm spacers on the rear, no problems. But have had endless issues with front 10mm spacers. Mainly Getting wobble on the front. Just had my wheels powder coated and the guys put them back on very tight. On taking them off I found the spacers cracked. I had a feeling that they where a little off spec and this confirms it. One to watch out for

You can see the reason for your "wheel wobble". The broken part of the spacer, the boss, looks like it prevented the wheel sitting flush on the hub. You may well find that now the boss has broken off that your wheels will now seat square to the hub.
If you buy new spacers, before you fit them, make sure that they will fit square on the hub and also fit square on the wheels.

Did you buy them new, or used? The hubs and wheels need to be cleaned back to clean metal then a THIN coat of grease before fitting. You should be able to fit the spacer to the hub, and wheel, and still be able to rotate them freely.

Thanks guys. They where always a little tight. Clearly not accurately made. Might try again in a few weeks.

My guess is they were too tight a fit and removing the wheel snapped the spigot ring off the spacer. I've seen it quite a lot over the years. I would bet they snapped it when they removed the wheel to balance it.

Spacers have never been a good idea in my book.
They change the fulcrum points and put more stress on suspension components and all manner of other important mechanical parts.

Insurance companies HATE them; for good reason IMO.

All the more for the rest of us then. Insurance Companies hate anything unless you tell them you have them and they charge you for a “modification”, then they’re ok.

I could tell you if I was at home mate. But all I can say is I have bought different makes. It's how they are fitted which counts.

H&R from Germany or Eibach. These are certified and TÜV approved for use. Not the cheapest but you are assured quality and a correct fit

So I bought some new 10 mm spacers and had a go at fitting them today. Cleaned the hub and found that they didn't fit. There was a 3 mm gap between the hub and the spacer but the inner bit (hub centric bit) was up against the spacer. So no amount of tightening cleaning would sort it. So off they came! Giving up on front spacers!
