Hi everyone. Got codes to say my crankshaft sensor was faulty, have looked on numerous sites and everyone says it is found below the starter motor. On my engine that position is plugged off. Some one else said it is at the front but I can't find it. Any help?
Also codes for camshaft sensors, I have found the intake one but not the exhaust, any help?

Exhaust cam sensor is mounted on the front of the timing cover. Inlet cam sensor is in the block behind the oil filter housing.
On my 2000 2.0 (6 cyl.) The crank sensor was very close to the starter motor.

The M52 only has VANOS on the intake cam, I don't think there is an exhaust sensor.

I think you are right, there was a change in engine that year to M52/TU which had 2 vanos sensors.
Where is the crankshaft sensor?

you can see the sensor on the rear right of the engine; or stand near the passenger wing and look to the right low down..Some videos on YouTube say you need to take the inlet manifold off to do it...I didn't need to, was a 30 min job...

Pretty sure the M52 has the cam sesnor on the front timing cover reading off a ring intalled on the front damper. M52TU and M54 engines moved the sensor to the back of the crank just above the starter.
