Unfortunately gone
I decided to tackle this job 18 months ago by buying the parts to replace the crankcase breather hoses.

Today I decided to go ahead and do the job....yes 18 months of planning......and hit a snag!

After removing the hoses (snapping one and dislocating another) I found that my parts are different to the ones ordered, and I cannot find the BMW part numbers on Realoem.

What I’m having trouble figuring out from the parts that I have is that on my car, the connecting line does not have the option for fitting the return pipe. It’s just a through pipe.

I’ve tried with BMW parts and they’ve said that new part is the only option they have.

Can anyone help me with the correct part number and also, why does my car not have the option of the return pipe.

It’s a 1999 2.8 manual. I’ve put in the correct vin number too.

thanks

You have four hoses just missing item 6 as far as I can see. Something not right, your old parts do not have the hose No3 with the spigot for another hose to push on.

How strange, wonder why anyone would have done that, maybe availability of a used part in its history so they used what they could find rather than buy from BMW, don't suppose its a cheap part, but at least you will be back to factory spec. Good luck in putting it all back together, did my 2.5 the other week, ended up lifting the intake manifold off to route and connect the hoses, a right faff of a job.
