Cracked rear lens

Spotted a crack in the nearside rear glass today. Can anybody (Tony-t???) advise if this is a MOT fail and also if there are any threads relating to rear light removal on 2003 Z4 2.5i SE. Hopefully I'll be able to attach a picture of the offending item. TIA for your help. Rgds Martyn

That looks like a crack in the reflector portion of the lens. Would only fail if it were insecure or missing. If it had been a part of the different light lenses it would only fail if white light showed through when the lights were on, or again if it was insecure. HTH.

Thanks Tony. It is secure but I don't like it being damaged. I can see a used one on eBay for £20 that looks OK and the TIS shows it is an easy install so I'll probably replace it anyway. Thanks again. Rgds, Martyn

Thanks Tony, will do. Just ordered the spare off eBay for £20. It looks in good nick so time will tell.

S/H lens/light fitting arrived yesterday with just a couple of small marks but also fitted with the (correct) Sterling Grey trim. Fitted today, looks and works good. £19.99 from BM Auto Spares on eBay. Result! Thanks for advice.

Those coloured trim pieces (some call them "French fries?") are easy to swap Martyn, just gently pry them off and apply double sided tape to re fit.
