Need to pick your brains....

The rubber aerial grommet on my Zed has perished so need to order a new one. (There is no aerial either)
Is it as simple case of pulling the old one out and push fitting the replacement?

The other thing is my car has the elecky roof switch missing and the hood just folds down.
Is there a way to check if it should have a power hood and is there any way to check its working without the switch?
If it doesn't have a power hood is there usually just a blank in where the power hood switch goes?

Aerial grommet I replaced from ebay. Expensive for a tiny block of rubber lol. I used pliers to pull it out gently.

Intact I've just looked and they're half the price of what I paid last year. Tut.

People are making a killing on these aerial grommets on ebay, bought mine from a BMW dealer for considerably less. Always worth checking the dealers prices for all parts before going down the ebay route.

Should be around £10 from a dealer. Unless prices have moved back down recently - not unheard of if for example a new batch is made and supply becomes more plentiful.

I paid about £6 from Sopers two years ago.

Cheers. £12 I've seen 'em for on eBay so will check the stealers tmoz.

@spursfaninacoupe Mine is a facelift sorry.

Out of interest....what's required to convert to a power hood & is it worth it?

No worries, you need the ram connected to the reservoir (ram attaches to roof Reservoir in the boot on left hand side).

Micro switch and connector (will have been cut as it feeds through a metal pipe out of the factory.

Button to activate for center console

A different left hand book carpet to allow for the extra space reservoir requires.

Brackets for the reservoir to sit at c45'
