Hi all… I’ve had my lovely Z319981.8cc now for five years.
She’s just clocked 200 K miles! Mainly down to me as I do 100 miles a day!
i’m just after some advice really as I Had two new tyres on the rears last week and today went to get two for the front only noticing the originals were 225/50 R16 however what was put on the rears were 205/55 R16!
Gutted is an understatement will this change the handling especially in wet weather I am 54 and not one for sliding round the roundabouts… Well not intentionally anyway….lol I do alot off motorway driving so will shied be affected?
So any advice would be gratefully accepted as I can’t change it now the tyres ordered for the front will match the rears.
Thank you

Should be 225/50/R16 all round. How did you get 205/55 R16 on the rear?
Other options (for 1997 M44) were 205/60/R15 and 225/45/R17.

The wheels were dropped off and only just noticed now the wheels are back on the car that they are the 205/50

205/55/16 are the same rolling radius as the 225/50/16, so your speedo will not be affected.

With the range of 225/50/16 tyre options getting less and more expensive, I know of several Z3 owners who have gone for 205/55/16 tyres as there are more option and they are cheaper. They don't report any major issues.

I would go back to tyre fitters and point out they have fitted incorrect size and request correct size for same price. Their fault their expence
