When I first bought my Z3 the local village garage had a good look over the vehicle.

when they put some inert gas in the non functioning a/c it was lost. They thought it was a leak in the condenser.

I would be grateful to get some ideas on getting the a/c up and running.

Thanks.

If you let an aircon expert take a look then they should be able to locate any leak. If the system has been down for more than a year then I would bet that the seals are perished. If the condenser has a leak then that should be simple to replace. If you replace the condenser then do the receiver drier as well.

An A/C company will check for any leaks using CO2 gas not refrigerant. Most likely a hole in the condenser caused by a stone. They’re not well protected on a Z3.
