Panic over following instruction from Grand daughter done reset all ok now
Thanks. When I started using a computer in work ( very late on the last Luddite) a graduate working for me told me to use the following
when it goes wrong
Switch off for 30 secs then back on
next---- switch off go and have a brew say 30 mins then back on
next----switch off and leave off overnight.
It just like my previous X1 (e84) that had troubles with satnav/radio ect but always cleared itself overnight-----so the dealer could not see what was wrong. Finally I drove to the dealer with the fault, they told me to bring it directly to workshops and dont switch off. They spent 3 hours ,never found the fault and replaced most of the components to fix it. I was told the parts alone wear over £1800 luckily car was 12 month old, but it always kept having odd days until I sold it.
