I was having an issue where the car is idling rougher than usual, unplugging the MAF sensor made the issue go away.

Took it to the garage today where they cleared the codes to start fresh and these codes came up pretty quick:

0b: Signal, Sensor, Radiator -Outlet

7D: Activation, Electric Fan

The garage didn't seem confident in knowing what the root cause was or how to fix so i thought I would ask here...

The thing to do is clear any codes (after making a note of what they were). Then run the car and re read the car and see if any have come back. Unplugging the MAF makes the engine run in basic mode, and it could that is the problem. If it runs better unplugged it points to a faulty MAF.

Tony.

ps. What model car and where are you?

If the car runs better with the MAF unplugged, there are 2 possible issues:
- You have a vacuum leak, most common
- The MAF is faulty, less common

Just the codes I mentioned above.

They didn't log the codes before clearing, but after clearing the above 2 have come back

I was wondering if there were any pointing towards air leaks or fuel trim issues.
Check the big intake boots for splits or for any obvious vacuum pipe leaks.

Tony.
