Could be u you have disturbed the rear wheel sensors. Check all connections. If you turned on the ignition when they were disconected this might have logged the fault but a drive should reset I think.

Have you taken the car out for a run since fitting the shocks

Personally I would turn them out and take it for a short drive and see if they return and if so what the codes are.

Only recently had the z3 but when returning home from picking it up the DTC and '!' Lights came on, this was likely due to bedding in of the new brake pads and after resetting they have stayed off. Also, the engine management light came on after being stood for a couple of weeks but has remained off with use and resetting.

You could borrow mine but not the most local person. I got the creator c110 from Amazon which did the trick for what I needed and handy for the price.

Cheers mate, I'll check them out on Amazon
I did some research first but didn't want to pay a fortune for one or have one that needed operating from a laptop. That one did the trick but the broken English instructions were not the best.

I knew my issues were just anomalies due to the pads being changed so didn't want to pay a garage to turn the lights out and thought a reader might be handy.

Yeah, I think a few other brands do earlier models. I'm sure somebody else on the forum will have some advice on one.

You will need an adaptator to convert the 16 pin obd ll into the round 20 pin obd port under the bonnet pre face-lift cars dont have the obd under dash only later ones and even then only limited diag available from the 16 pin.
adapters available on ebay dont cost much
