Hi,

I have the airbag light on my 1999 Z3 2.8 and when I plugged in a code reader that can read and clear SRS codes (Maxilink ML629), it comes up with 06 Belt tensioner, passenger. I remember the previous owner saying something about it but looking under the seat, it looks like he did the occupancy sensor bypass. The tensioner all looks plugged in.

Any ideas please?

Thank you.

I have seat belt issues as well so I am watching and can not offer any info at this time.
I do have a question, is that jumper wire the bypass you talk about? I tried a bypass some time back with a homemade diode pack/resistor circuit but it did not work. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the bypass to be honest. I just noticed the big black plug you see inline with the white one doesn't seem to go anywhere. Hopefully somebody will be able to help both of us! It may be worth starting another thread about your issue though to avoid confusion.

I think you'll find if your seats are not heated then only one of those big plugs is used. I had a belt tensioner code on my 1.9, passenger, changing the tensioner for a used one cured it.
Thanks for that. The resistance is 0.6ohms and I think it is supposed to come up as more like 2 - 3 so probably is faulty.
