Cobra Sports cat back exhaust fitted. Fairly loud

My back box needed replacing so I went for the Cobra Sports cat back exhaust which cost £390.
It sounds great with a very deep tone. However it is fairly loud and by the letter of the law will not pass an MOT. The latest UK mot states it can not be louder than a standard exhaust on a similar model. I guess it is still a grey area . My Abarth 595 competizone had a pretty loud monza exhaust form the factory. more than likely just as loud as the cobra exhaust on the Z3.
Has anyone had problems lately in the UK getting a sports exhaust through an MOT?

I can vouch for the loudness of the Monza exhaust from my 124 Spider. So much fun!

If it was me, I’d pop into a local trusted MOT station and get their advice. I’ve not heard of aftermarket systems from e.g. Eisenmann failing, but not sure if your Cobra system is more aggressive. I’ve seen that some system manufacturers do state which exhausts are road legal, or for track.
