Closing the door on 2017

Our bathrooms currently undergoing a refurb. Jill has kept out of the way and has asked to see it only when it's finished.

I think she will be quite surprised

Oh no @billz, not this stuff .... :(
I ripped it out of every room in our house at the time and it was also covered in chicken wire so they could plaster over it.
Worse job of doing the whole house up that was but wanted to keep the high ceilings.
Bloody stuff got everywhere, down the back of your neck, in your bum crack, spent a lot of time itching & scratching.
House was built in 1904.

Been there and done the refurb bit a while ago now but after a while it all needs decorating again. 2018 will see major changes as I shall finish work so out in caravan, Zed, potter about garden and help both children with their house refurbishments.

Got to fit in the Xmas pressies from the Children- Tour around Twickenham and a Helicopter ride around the Peak District.

Happy New Year to all and see you about in 2018.

Thank you to all that have wished us a happy New year, and a big thanks to @Antm72 and @Jjim for your kind offers of help when the time comes.
Your both hired! :D

Ha,ha. I guess I asked for that Dave. To be fair DIY is definitely not my strong suit unless you come accross anything needs doing wi' spanners! Good luck with your plans mate. We both wish you and Jue well with it!

Tony.

Good luck with your new year plans grumps, hope it go's to plan mate.
If you have any plumbing requirements, I have warm hands and latex gloves ;).

Sorry for your bereavement.

Thanks Steve, you too are hired!! First job will be a full kitchen refit once we find a house to put it in!
Yes we lost Jues uncle 3 weeks ago and her Auntie had a stroke last week, we assume triggered by the loss of her husband. She's home and come out of it pretty well. These things are part of the cycle so we deal with it as it comes along. :)

Crikey you're sounding like sir Alan :nailbiting:.
Losing someone near Xmas makes it seem even worse mate, but as you say we just have to deal with it. No consolation though .
Good news about Jue's aunt recovering though .

Have started the New Year with my first fitness session. Fooked now for the rest of it =))

Good luck with that, some say it's harder than starting from new, Dave, or you could be like us & Tony & Shirl and buy a plot of land and build your own, exactly how you want it to be! With a black Labrador and a brand new baby at the same time, so I'm sure you and Jue would manage it! :)

We can afford to buy a woodland plot but getting council permission to put up a log cabin and getting residency is almost impossible. We can't afford a building plot as nice as it would be. :)

Good luck with your plans Dave, I bought my house as a bit of a wreck in 1983 I estimated it would take about 5 years to get it right and I was just about spot on. I then built a small extension on the side which was another couple of years. once it is all done, it is very satisfying. Now that the mortgage is paid off, even more so.
