This is a regular meet that happens every 2nd Sunday.
I wanted to see how my Z4MR behaved on a longish motorway journey, as I'm going to be doing some serious mileage in 2019. This was also the first time I was going to be using the BMW Sat-Nav, which had been updated in my car with the latest firmware and my map DVD was from 2015. It was about a 53 miles drive there for me in Oxford and I was happy to get 28.1MPG.
The Meet starts at 8.30am and goes on till 11.30am, with hot drinks etc being sold from the pub at a little hatch area. There was a good mix of cars (I will add some pics) and I didn't feel out of place in my Z4M-Roadster. There were some lovely classics, some American stuff and some really nice modern Super Cars.
As I was on my own, I wasn't too comfortable just walking up to people and chatting, but the event organiser spoke to me for a bit as he is a Z4 owner himself, with his current Zed being an E89. He had previously owned an E85/86 and knew the Z4M well. When I told him how recently I got it, he smiled and reassured me I would love it.
I took a few quick snaps on my iPhone X, so apologies for poor quality. In the new year my old man wants to join me and he's got a proper SLR to take photos with.
First I'll start with this really nice Viper, there were some other American cars there, a few Mustangs etc
Next I took a snap of this "Lotus" 7. I think there was an old Morgan thing next to it. My old man use to own an original 7, so I knew he'd like to see this.
This stunning M5 was on the same row as me and was the only other BMW there for the 45 mins I stayed.
It's not every day you get to see an Esprit, let alone an original Turbo from the early 80's!
Next I was rather stunned to see a McLaren 720S at this breakfast meet. Still think the 675LT has a nicer front end.
I think this was a MkII Jag? I know Jags from the era had similar looks. Either way it's nice to see one being driven at this time of year!
Here we have my Zed with an Audi R8 parked next to it. I have no idea what era/age it is, as the two gens of R8 look almost the same and I've never seen one in the flesh before.
During the 45mins I stayed, the carpark was starting to fill up and there were some really expensive cars there (There was an Aston DBS there too), but also more normal cars. I think it would be nice to go along with some Zeds in 2019, as there is the room and we wouldn't be out of place.
