Chrome front windshield trim

I have noticed some Z3Ms have a Chrome window trim which I rather like!
I know some of you guys really know your stuff when it comes to Z3s so was this an extra?
Or was it only certain years which had the chrome trim? Mine is year 2000.
And last question, can it be purchased and added?

I believe it's part of an optional chrome pack. You can get the screen surrounds in chrome. They stick on by means of double sided tape (already attached). They also have a few prongs per side that go under the screen seals, not sure how difficult it is to affix though.

Hi Medskipper,

The chrome screen surround was available as an optional extra, you can also get door handles and bonnet side vents as well as a high level rear brake light for the later models.
The trim fits underneath the screen frame rubbers and is attached by double sided tape, The trim comes in three pieces, left side, right side and a jointing trim that fits in the middle at the top of the screen, to find one in good condition second hand is quite difficult, most trims when removed are damaged or kinked when being removed from the original car.
I purchased one myself some time ago for my Z which I still haven’t fitted yet, I’m not sure if I will so if your interested I may have one for sale in very very good condition.
