Chrome door handle trim...

Bought my car with the chrome (plastic) handle overlays and one has fallen off.

It's been stuck on with a couple of small bits of double sided tape and I could do the same again but wondered if the original fitting kit would have come with a pre-shaped double sided tape/pad of some sort?

IIRC double sided tape was the normal method of fixing - not sure if they were pre-shaped or not
You could do the same again or use some clear silicon mastic which should spread nicely between the two surfaces.

TIP: Use a bulldog clip or similar to hold it in place until it cures

I got a set from Frank Wolff in Germany who i must say gave an amazing turn round in service, ordered on Wednesday and delivered on Friday.

I did email him prior to ordering to see if they fitted a right hand drive car and he replied promptly in broken english writing that they were.

These were the chrome plated stainless steel versions and have the spongy type double sided tape all across the back of them....it's that tape you only have one shot at and its a devil to get off if you make an error. #-o

They seem a perfect fit although in honesty I have fitted them yet...to bl***y cold. 8-| When it comes to fitting it's a matter of ensuring the original plastic handles are very clean with no oil or wax on them to ensure a good adhesion of the tape.

Will have to have another look, mine might be chromed stainless as well..........?

I have some High Bond Sign Tape which should do the job but will leave until it warms up as well.
