Yes i do get it. We add risk into the system on a daily basis. Was it necessary NO but it may of helped our mental state as we have not left the house apart from work or shopping not even for exercise as we get that going to work. We have not seen the kids or family's apart from through glass windows and doors, so yes it was nice to get out and do something enjoyable.
I have to attend various buildings throughout the week and travel quite a lot regarding my job, there is never a day at work i do not have to meet people but it is done within the social distance guidelines, so when we went for a drive, We posed no further threat (if anything we posed less) to either transmitting it or catching it than we do going to work every day that we have done nearly all the way through this.
We did take more precautions when we went out, we never parked in any car parks, only stopped where their were no people around and drove at a very leisurely pace (due to car being stood for 5 months)
Regarding putting emergency services and others at risk this if it was in a risk assessment put to minimal due to the fact that i look after the car and would not drive it if i thought it may breakdown, which to be honest could happen to any of the vehicles we have on any given day.
Regarding the Supermarket we planned this stop so we did not do the Saturday Supermarket run so again we limited the risk.
We always carry in any of the cars we go either to work or shopping in. Sanitiser, gloves, wipes and even masks
So did i put others or our selves at risk anymore to going shopping, walking past runners or going to work 6 days a week.
I think not
