I contacted the organisers of the show to get a direct answer about the possibility of the show being cancelled.. this has come from the director.....

Are you ready for this reply....................

Thank you for your enquiry about the Silverstone Classic

I have spent the day on site at Silverstone reviewing the situation there

The British Grand Prix is an extremely large event with an audience of 125,000 on the Sunday alone, with most of them on the outfield. The Classic is growing, but not yet that large, with a total audience over the weekend of around 80,000, and with most people and most activities taking place on the infield. There are sufficient hard standing car parks to deal with our requirements. The infield has not been affected badly by the weather or the crowds, and there is no reason to believe that the Classic could be cancelled.
There are a few puddles here and there, which may result in a few classic car displays being moved position, but we believe the event will almost completely take place as planned.

We look forward to seeing you there enjoying a weekend of ‘flat out fun for all the family’.

Yay :D :D :D :D :D

That is really encouraging news Snoops, well done for investigating! :ymapplause:

I must admit I have been a little concerned of late, and that's put my mind at rest quite a bit.

top work..were on! :D

I dont think that this was ever in doubt! The money that has been already spent on this event and the cost of the admin to pay back the money to the punters would have cost the organisers thousands & thosands of pounds.

They almost certainly will have cancellation insurance in place, most large events do ;-)

Great news though :D

This is great news Snoops, I was thinking about this today as I was sat in vehicle at lunchtime with the rain bouncing off the pavements for a solid 30 mins.
