Bit confused? It's says it's an M but it also says it's a 2.8 auto and it's an auto in the pictures. o_O

In fact ignore all the above. The seller is a mischievous scamming thief. =))

If the purchaser has a lack of knowledge he or she will probably think they have an m car for months before realising that it's only a 2.8

@Grumpy you are spot on, the car is in fact a 2.8. Which a Reg check confirmed.

Confusion reigns here all right, no ///M auto's as far as I'm aware? I think Andy's coupe was a 2.8 .

I am sure that is a 2.8 coupe with M bits stuck on. That is not a genuine M exhaust and it doesn't have the extra dials. It is advertised as a 3.2M but the spec says 2,793CC.

The person has 58 cars for sale that are listed on e-bay, everything from a 2013 2.0 Z4, up to a Bentley Mulsanne for £89,911. Judging from the detail in the background of the pictures, the dealer is a Sarah Cox cars up in Nottingham.

Year of first registration is the year of import Stevie, so that's where the difference comes from.

Tony.

ps. Jap. imports usually show "miles" not KM. though not always.

Yes mine was a 2.8, LHD imported from Germany, with a 2002 plate, despite being a 1998 as that's when it was registered in the UK.

Looks lovely this one. Although Autos not my thing.

Is it worth £15,000? Well I suppose you could buy another one, find all the ///M parts, spray them and fit them, or stump up £20-45,000 for an M Coupe.

This dealer could learn a very hard lesson.

Someone could buy that car, drive it around for a few weeks, then return it for a full refund as it's grossly miss described in the advert, with the backing a court if need be.

Whenever I buy a car, I always print of the adverts in case I need them later on, in case something turns out to be not quite what it was advertised as.

But more important it can also act as proof of who you've bought the car from. That really helps when a dealer uses the common term "I'm selling on behalf of someone"

They sometimes do this to try and get out of their legal obligations as a retailer.

LHD imported from Japan where they are all RHD cars
LHD are quite common in Japan.

Apparently it makes a european car more exclusive in japan if it's left hand drive.

I used to import Jap stuff myself 15 years ago.
