Question for all, what’s the general take on installing an engine mount stabilizer bar.
I find the 3ltr to be a bit iffy on acute bends at higher speeds.
Looking forward to the spring, here in Vancouver.
Charlie.

Looking for a first aid kit for the boot of my Z3.
Hopefully a member can help
Charlie.

If you feel the motor isn't stable enough @Charles Perkins I would be checking the engine mounts themselves. If you didn't know, they are oil filled and can leak oil leaving them less firm than they should be. Worth a look maybe.

Thank you,
Have confirmed that the engine mounts are ok.
Perhaps I should rephrase my question.
Wold members suggest a stabilizer bar is an asset in general?

Hi Charlie, I fitted one on my old Mazda Eunos (Miata) and it did make a great difference to the stiffness of the front end, so when I bought my Z3 I fitted one on it too. Again I felt it made an improvement to the handling especially in tight bends.

However the Z4 comes from the factory with braces fitted from the strut tops back to the bulkhead. If I fitted one on here (they're certainly not cheap!) it would probably be just a cosmetic exercise. That's not to say I won't , but, I have more things requiring attention first.

Also, as Mike pointed out in an accident the forces are transferred through out the whole front end.

Thank you for your experiences and wisdom.
One more question if I may.
It wold appear that few members race there Z3s on a racetrack in the UK.
(Now would I like to join those enthusiasts)
Use to race my Mark 2-3.8 in the 70s.
Awesome!
However I’m wondering if those individuals benefit from a stabilizing bar?
Kind regards.

My bet is yes they would Charlie. In all honesty forgetting about any problems arising from accidents (which most likely will not occur) I would fit one. We call these a strut brace over here by the way.;) Most of these items are created through one racing series or another, and they don't do this for no reason do they?
This is one I will buy at some point.

The easier question - I got my BMW first aid kit new on Ebay. There were several available at the time but with different expiry dates. The same kit was supplied in a lot of BMs.
