Guys
The courtesy light switch doesn't work on the passenger door and I see that I need to change the striker.
Questions:

1. How is the wiring connector accessed?

2. Ones for sale on eBay have a reinforcing plate at the rear-do I need to get to the rear of it to unbolt and swap?

Many thanks.

I know this is an old thread BUT my Z needs a new striker plate in the driver’s side as insulation tape wrapped around the inner part is wearing thin and the alarm keeps going off as the car thinks the door is open. I’ve a striker plate to replace the existing one with but my question is, does the rear quarter, wheel and wheel arch need to come off? The connecting lead is about a foot long behind the striker plate and I’m concerned that a pull in this to remove the existing striker plate will impact something else and cause another issue.

You need to power the seat forward and unscrew the rear side cowl enough to pull the access grommet off and disconnect the wiring plug. Be careful that the steel plate with the screw threads doesn’t drop down.

The steel plates being why the star screws are returned to temporarily sit in their holes while cables are swopped?
